merlin_133986159_f56410f3-57e3-406a-a0d6-0b45c161acdc-master768Last week, February 14, a day that is supposed to represent love, will now represent the day that people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High lost a loved one. Nikolas Cruz, a former student, entered the school and started shooting, while an armed deputy that was stationed at the school, waited outside for four minutes as the gunman killed students and faculty members inside. A total of 17 people were killed. while 15 were injured. The School resource officer, Scot Peterson, never went in, despite taking a position on the west side of Building 12, where most of the massacre happened, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said. When asked what Peterson should have done when the gunfire broke out, Israel said,  “Addressed the killer. Killed the killer.”  Israel suspended Peterson without pay pending an investigation. Peterson has since resigned. CNN reached out to Peterson; no calls have been returned. What a coward.
